Special Offer for 2027: No-Strings Spring

Early spring in Hokkaido can be amazing, with deep snow and bluebird days to ski big lines in the alpine. I’d say the last week of February and the first two weeks of March have had some of my best days on skis anywhere. But of the 10 winters I’ve done in Hokkaido, we’ve now had two seasons where the end of the season warmed up rapidly, bringing rain and some pretty average skiing to the island.

An 80% chance of great skiing is pretty good, and far better than you’d get in most places around the world. But at the Powder Project we’re trying to deliver the best days you’ll ever have on snow. We don’t want anyone leaving disappointed and frankly we don’t want to ski bad snow any more than you do.

So for the 2027 season we’re introducing something new:

From the 22nd of February until we shut down on the 20th of March all Road Trip bookings will be fully refundable up to 48 hours before the trip starts.

We’ll give you our honest assessment of whether the snow looks good. You can decide whether you want to come. No strings attached. If the snow’s good, come shred. If things warm up early, go to Tokyo and see the cherry blossoms. Or book refundable flights and save your money for another time.

Here’s the fine print:

  • We’ll take our usual ¥50,000JPY deposit per person to confirm your booking and hold your dates.

  • The final balance for your trip will be due 48 hours before the start of your trip.

  • If you cancel we’ll refund your deposits in full.

  • This offer is only available for Road Trips. For Base Camp trips we have to book accommodation well in advance so we can’t issue last minute refunds.

See our Road Trips page to make your booking.
